Raisin
In Northern Europe there are raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, but in the Mediterranean there are raisins. The raisin:
- is rich in potassium and magnesium, which help reduce fluid retention
- contains iron that helps the treatment of anemia and the regulation of the metabolism
- contains vitamin C, which helps in the absorption of iron and has strong antioxidant action, as well as restorative properties, which act against skin aging
- has polyphenols, which reduce cholesterol
- contains dietary fiber, which helps treat constipation and normal bowel function
- helps at the reduction of blood pressure
- helps “fighting” fat accumulation in patients with fatty liver
- has antimicrobial, antibacterial, as well as vasodilating action
